Wiggler SM64

Wiggler, as seen in Super Mario 64

Wiggler is a common enemy found in many Super Mario games. In Super Mario 64, Wiggler is fought as the boss of Tiny-Huge Island, located inside the top of the island by ground-pounding a certain section of the small island and then entering the hole created in the big island. Wiggler is fought by bouncing on their head 3 times, getting more faster and angrier every time they are hit, as well as jumping after a few hits. After being defeated, the Wiggler shrinks as it gives up a star.

Phenomena[]

Red Wiggler[]

According to some players, Wiggler is said to turn red after being hit in certain personalized copies of the game. Red Wiggler is said to be much more difficult than their normal counterpart, being much more faster, jumping higher and farther, and creating shockwaves after landing on the ground, similar to the Bowser boss fight in Bowser in the Sky. They are also said to require around 5 - 10 hits to defeat instead of 10.

These claims most likely could've come from the fact that Wigglers in most Super Mario games tend to turn red after being hit, being more aggressive and chasing after Mario, and how, strangely, this does not happen in Super Mario 64.
