Wet-Dry World's Skybox.

Wet-Dry world is Stage 11 in Super Mario 64. It is noted due to a phenomenon known as the "Wet-Dry World Negative Emotional Energy", which is a feeling of sadness or loneliness given off by Wet-Dry World.

Theorising

It is unknown whether the negative aura of Wet-Dry world is caused by the anomalous properties of Super Mario 64, every copy being personalized, or if it is simply just the human brain causing a feeling of loneliness due to the desolate nature of the level and skybox.

Reportings

Two reports of experiencing this feeling have been placed on two seperate subreddits, the first report being on r/creepygaming, by user SurprisedPootis. They posted an image of Wet-Dry World's skybox and detailed about how

they thought Wet-Dry world felt weird. Users in the comments shared their thoughts about the dream-like vibe of Super Mario 64, and how they also thought Wet-Dry world was eerie and had a lonely feeling.

Trivia

  • Wet-Dry world's skybox is an image of the town Casares, in Spain.
  • Wet-Dry world's assets also supposedly contain a diagram of the human brain.
  • Certain textures from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time were used throughout this map, namely the unopenable doors.
