The Possessed Mario anomaly is a strange occurrence that can happen very rarely when performing certain actions. This particular instance was witnessed when entering the Tiny-Huge Island area on the third floor of the castle, causing Mario to do strange things that aren't affected by the player's button inputs.
Behavior[]
Mario's head can begin to spin uncontrollably in either clockwise, counter-clockwise, or rotate in circles on its center, in addition to floating and twitching. You will usually be unable to control him when these ticks happen.
Mario's known "possessions" can include him levitating high into the air, his head and neck twisting around in circles or forward indefinitely, his arms and legs twitching, the camera slowly zooming in on him, and Mario's control being taken away briefly during these "possessions". After it occurs, the game returns to normal with no other known issues.
Report[]
"I was playing the game one day after school, and I was entering the Tiny-Huge Island area of the third level of the castle... But Mario stopped moving. I tried to control him but for some reason it didn't allow me to move. I was tingling with fear wondering what was going on, and the music started to go very quiet to where I could barely hear it. Then, the camera slowly zoomed in on Mario and he began floating into the air slowly with his neck going sideways and one of his legs going upwards. Mario wouldn't come down from the ceiling, and I kept trying to move him, but it was like something was taking control of him and wouldn't let me resume. He did this for about 5 or 6 seconds, and the camera zoomed out at the same speed as before and Mario came back down from the ceiling quickly, and after that the game let me play again. I kept going in and out of the door wanting it to happen again, but it wouldn't do it. Nothing else happened afterwards. It was very scary and the memory of it gives me the chills."
