Pleasant

The supposed painting for Pleasant, Pleasant Falls.

Pleasant, Pleasant Falls is a course from certain personalized copies of Super Mario 64. It is theorized that this course originally was used to unlock Luigi, but due to his removal in later builds of the game, was also removed. But it is possible that this course evolved into Tall, Tall Mountain due to the many similarities between the two courses. It usually replaces Tall, Tall Mountain.

Geography[]

Pleasant, Pleasant Falls can be split into two sections: the mountain and the flood. Resembling the main course area from Tall, Tall Mountain, the mountain is a large and tall mountain with several waterfalls which takes up most of the landscape. Somewhere in the mountain is a large cave area: it's location varies in reports. In most reports of Pleasant, Pleasant Falls, there is a green pipe at the summit which crashes the game once entered. It was originally theorized that said pipe would unlock Luigi as a playable character, and it crashes the game due to Luigi's removal from the game's code. In very few reports, a "rainbow bridge" and a rolling log are present in the course.

Below the mountain is the flood consisting of a beach-like area near the base of the mountain which leads onto a large body of water. Enemies common in the mountain section are Goombas, Swoops, Chuckyas, Piranha Plants and Fly Guys; while enemies common in the flood section are Bubs, one Bubba and an occasional Unagi.

Missions[]

The missions vary between reports of this course, but most of them include these:

  • Collecting eight red coins around the course
  • Finding a star in the cave
  • Finding five secrets in the flood area

Others include climbing across the rolling log and walking along the mentioned "rainbow bridge", but these has only been reported once.

Theorizing[]

It is often theorized that Pleasant, Pleasant Falls included Luigi or was used to unlock Luigi, and the course was removed from the game once he was removed from the game's code in February 1996. Also, it is possible that Tall, Tall Mountain was modelled off this course due to the many similarities between the two course's models.
