Within the files of Super Mario 64 and the July 25th 2020 leak, a removed level is referred to by many internal files associated with object banks and behaviors. This level, known in the community as Motos Factory, is a supposedly scrapped level that would've featured the removed Motos enemy and machinery-based level design prominently.
Remnants[]
Unlike many other unused levels found within the iQue leak, Motos Factory has no level files associated with it. It does not have a folder dedicated to it, either. That means there is no terrain nor parameters related to the level itself. That also means that the existence of the level is based highly on speculation and assumption.
The most concrete proof of the level's existence is with an associated object bank. Object banks are an array of objects loaded in to be used in a level, and one is found within the iQue leak not associated with any of the existing levels. This object bank is noticeable as it features the Motos, along with Amps, Heave-Hos, and some removed objects. One of these objects is "shigo," which roughly translates to the ladder, and another is "ishiusu," which translates to the millstone. Both of these concepts can be seen in early concept artwork for Super Mario 64.
Missions[]
Six strings were found in the iQue leak which relate to the removed level's missions. A string that contains the level's name has yet to be found however. The missions are as follows:
- STAR POWERED CONTRAPTION
- BRIDGES ABOVE WITH 8 COINS
- INSIDE THE MACHINE
- CLIMB HIGH GET STAR
- 5 SECRETS IN THE BAY
- MOTOS GETS TO WORK
