Not to be confused with the similar area in Mario's Adventure.

Mario's House is an anomalous level found in Super Mario 64 via Stop N' Swop with Paper Mario 64. As the name suggests, the level appears to be Mario's house from the beginning of Paper Mario. However, some say that this version of the location is much bigger, both with the outside location and the house itself, likely due to it becoming a full-fledged level instead of a side location from the intro of Paper Mario 64. It commonly appears alongside Toad Town, likely due to both of them being unlocked the same way. It is often accessed the same way, simply being accessed from the Castle Grounds or the Castle Courtyard. Notably, this level can also function as an "intro" area, acting similarly to how it appears in Paper Mario 64, with Mario appearing there after the Princess Peach letter cutscene, sometimes even replacing the Castle Grounds entirely.

Description[]

As one would expect, the level itself heavily resembles Mario's house from Paper Mario 64, with an expanded grassy plain around it filled with flower patches and trees for the player to explore. The inside of the house is usually the same as it is in Paper Mario, even having Luigi's hidden basement, but often expanded with more rooms. The level itself is usually connected to the Castle Grounds/Courtyard or Toad Town in some way, either through a path at the edge of the outside region or a Warp Pipe. The level typically has no enemies, but friendly NPCs such as Toads, Bob-omb Buddies, and even Yoshi have been reported to appear.

Notably, some have reported it to be a small hub world area comparable to the Castle Courtyard, with one or two levels contained somewhere in the level's vicinity, with most reported levels being similar to locations from Mario's Adventure and/or Paper Mario 64, likely due to it's presence in both games. In rare instances, it is even an Alternate Castle, with a similar set-up to the Mario's Adventure version of the area to facilitate this. However, the reports of levels in this area have been widely inconsistent, and thus a list will not be compiled until further notice.

Missions[]

The most common mission in Mario's House is ground pounding and ending up in Luigi's basement from Paper Mario 64, where a hidden Power Star resides. However, an 8 red coins star has been reported, as well as a hidden star for getting on top of the house or talking to one of the NPCs. Notably, a mission commonly reported is punching in a book in a bookcase similarly to the mission in Big Boo's Haunt to reveal a hidden room containing the Power Star. The level consistently never has enough stars to be classified as a full course due to it's nature as part of the hub world.
