Klepto

Klepto is a condor found in the Shifting Sand Land level of Super Mario 64, as well as Tiny-Huge Island and Sunshine Isles in Super Mario 64 DS. They fly around holding a star (or Silver Star in Sunshine Isles) until they come into contact with the player, which will make them drop the star. In Shifting Sand Land, after their star is collected, they will be able to hold the player's cap until they are attacked again.

Phenomena

Holding Collected Star

Found in the files of Super Mario 64 is a Klepto model holding a blue, already collected, star. However, this goes unused, and even when their star is collected, it appears uncollected. However, this can be brought back by the Personalization A.I.

Holding Enemies

Some players remember the detail of Klepto carrying Goombas in his talons and dropping them above the player when he passes overhead. This behavior is not present in the retail copy and can attributed to the A.I.
