Bubba

Bubba is a fish enemy in Super Mario 64. They appear as large Bubs with sunglasses on instead of goggles. They reside in Tiny-Huge Island and will attempt to eat Mario. In Super Mario 64 DS, they are redesigned to more closely resemble Cheep Chomps, a similar enemy.

Blubba

Similarly to Bub, many players remember the enemy's name being spelled with an L. There is no evidence to support this spelling ever being accurate, leaving the logical explanation to be misremembering or misreading the name from the Official Player's Guide.

Blurp

At one point in development, Bubba may have been intended to be a different enemy. Blurps are a species introduced in Super Mario World who appear as green fish with orange fins and goggles. While the colors don't match, Bubba's name in the files is Buku, theorized to be a shortened form of Blurp's Japanese name Bukubuku (the Japanese onomatopoeia for bulging or bubbling noises).
