Explanation[]
The Achievements Anomaly is an anomaly where the Personalisation AI creates achievements for the player in order to add replayability and difficulty to a copy. This achievements range from doing things that are mandatory to beat the game to completing missions that are exclusive to personalised levels. Along with the achievements, unlockables are also usually rewarded to the player to add even more replay value.
Achievements[]
The achievements are normally represented in one of two ways:
-A section of the file selection menu were the player can see a list of all the achievements and activate or deactivate the unlockables they give.
-A separate room in the castle normally called the Trophy Hall where trophies, medals and other shiny objects representing the achievements are exhibited.
If the achievements are represented in the first way, after unlocking one a trophy sprite will appear in the middle of the screen along with the name of the achievement. If the achievements are represented in the second way, a commemorative collectible with unique appearance representing it will appear after meeting its requirements and the player will have to collect it in order to unlock the achievement.
Medals[]
Medals are a group of anomalous collectibles that can be considered as achievements, since they are given after big accomplishments like the trickster medal, which is rewarded after obtaining the 121st star. It is recommended to look at the specific medal page for more information.
In the Trophy Hall, Medals will be represented as non-spinning coins with unique designs put on pillows that can be grabbed by Mario.
Costume Closet[]
Suits in the Costume Closet and the ways to unlock them vary between each copy. These are the most consistent requirements for unlocking every skin.
-Luigi suit: Collect all green stars in a copy
-Wario suit: Encounter or defeat the Wario Apparition
-Fire Mario: Defeat Bowser using the anomalous fire flower power up
-Inverted: Get the keys in the incorrect order
-Classic: Get a star without ever going left or right
-Gold: Fall asleep in the Golden Garden
-Rainbow: Defeat a rainbow enemy
-Goomba: Stay near any enemy without being noticed
-Lights: Read all text boxes in the copy during winter, as they will be supposedly changed
-Random: Automatically appears in copies with a high level of personalisation
-Bowser: Enter The Bowser Room
-Gold Mario: Defeat him
-Crown: Can be found in Peach's room/cell and other anomalous locations in the castle.
100% Collection Achievements[]
The following achievements are only awarded when gathering all the collectibles from a common group. Note that this groups can become bigger if the collectible exists in the original and game and the Personalisation AI adds custom ones like Big Bully's key.
-Collecting all medals in a copy will unlock the achievement "Olympic Medalist" and, reportedly, a special skin in the costume closet consisting of all the medals hanging on Mario's neck.
-Collecting all outfits in the Costume Closet will unlock the achievement "Barbie Boy" and a giant version of the closet that replaces one of the walls of whichever room it's in.
-Collecting all keys in a copy will unlock the achievement "Locksmith" and, reportedly, a special skin in the costume closet consisting of all the keys hanging on a key ring attached to Mario's pants.
-Collecting all level-exclusive eggs from a level will unlock an Easter themed version of it and getting all eggs in a copy will unlock the achievement "Eager for Easter" and a special anomalous version of MIPS who spawns its own eggs.
-Collecting the Eternal Star will unlock the achievement "Eternal Game" and provokes an epileptic light display on the screen. Reportedly, this causes the Nintendium component inside the console to increse its radioactivity, which shortens its lifespan.
-Collecting all Power Moons in a copy will unlock the achievement "All Nighter" along with the Night Light mode.
-Getting all tattles in Peach's Bestiary unlocks the achievement "Stereotype Based", a thank you letter from the University of Goom and allows the player to paint the bestiary pages like in the Painting Creator to make custom discolored enemies.
-Collecting all Power Ztars in a copy will unlock the achievement "Starless Night" along with a karma system. Collecting all Power Stars and Power Ztars will make a decorative half star half ztar mask appear in the Trophy Hall.
-Collecting all Golden Stars in a copy will unlock the achievement "Midas."
Event Achievements[]
These achievements are not based on collectibles and instead they are given after doing specific actions like beating a boss and completing a hard level.
-Using Quest Items for unintended purposes unlocks the achievement "Everything Everywhere" and gives the player the option to make the conexions between levels and themes more loose, allowing penguins to appear in deserts, for example.
-Following Bowser's example and doing every bad action he relates in the Book On Bad unlocks the achievement "Royal Model" and the Power Ztars.
Exceptions[]
-After completing Luigi's Campaign, all the gems and coins gathrered throughout the game will be used to determine what rank the player has gotten. Just like in Luigi's Mansion where the rank determined how big would be Luigi's new mansion, this rank will determine the size of a new castle for Peach. It is reported that the castle remains with its size changed by the rank after the credits and that getting a high rank actually makes new floors more likely to appear while getting low ranks removes floors from the copy.
-Using all colors at least once in the Painting Creator will unlock the achievement "Mario Paints" along with Mario's iconic suit from the Mario Paint game.
